Since 2016 the Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus Freiburg has already been member of the German Patient Blood Management network. A recent self-evaluation of the implementation of PBM was highly sucessful, i. e. the hospital has now reached the gold level status. Hence Prof. Dr. Christoph Wiesenack (Medical Director and Chief Physician of the Clinic of Anesthesiology) was questioned in detail about PBM by Badische Zeitung.
